Warranty Coverage:
This warranty covers only manufacturing defects that may occur during normal use of the tire in accordance with the manufacturer's recommended instructions. Manufacturing defects include any flaw in materials or workmanship that negatively affects tire performance, such as abnormal cracking, premature wear, or structural failure due to a manufacturing defect.
The warranty is limited to the original purchaser of the tire only and is not transferable to subsequent owners or third parties.
1- Warranty Period:
- The warranty is valid for one year from the date of purchase, or until the tread depth reaches 1.6 mm, whichever comes first.
- The warranty applies only to tires purchased and used in Saudi Arabia and Gulf countries.
2- Coverage: The warranty covers the following manufacturing defects:
- Tread ply separation from the belt.
- Shoulder rubber separation.
- Sidewall bulging caused by improper installation during manufacturing.
- Defects in the tire structure or belt leading to tire failure.
- Defects resulting from improper vulcanization or inconsistencies in materials used.
3- Procedures: If a manufacturing defect is discovered in the tire, Darbk Tires will provide the following solutions based on the tire's condition:
- Replacement: If the defect is identified within the first 6 months of purchase, the tire will be replaced with a new tire of the same model or an equivalent model.
- Pro-rata compensation: If the defect is identified after 6 months or if the tread depth exceeds 50% wear, pro-rata compensation will be issued based on the remaining tread depth.
Warranty Exclusions:
Darbk Tires' warranty policy aims to provide comprehensive protection to our customers against potential manufacturing defects. However, there are certain situations not covered by the warranty, which arise from external factors or improper tire use. These exclusions are in place to ensure customers understand the conditions that can affect tire performance and void the warranty. It is important to adhere to proper usage instructions and avoid conditions that may expose the tire to damage beyond normal manufacturing limits to ensure full benefit from our products and overall road safety.
1- External Damage
External damage refers to harm to the tire resulting from external factors such as impact with sharp objects or road debris. This includes cuts, punctures, or tears caused by stones, glass, nails, or any other road materials that may damage the sidewall or tread, including but not limited to.
- Damage resulting from impact, cuts, punctures, or road hazards such as stones, glass, nails, or other debris.
- Cuts in the sidewall or tread due to external objects or improper handling.
- Tears caused by sharp objects: such as nails, broken glass, or metal fragments that penetrate the tire surface.
- Bulges due to impact: Sidewall bulges resulting from the tire abnormally hitting curbs or sharp bumps.
- Sidewall cracking: Resulting from driving over curb edges or sharp obstacles, leading to visible cracks on the tire's sidewall.
- Deep punctures: Caused by sharp objects like screws or nails, resulting in deep damage that is difficult to repair.
- Cuts due to contact with metal edges: Typically occurs when driving over protruding or unstable metal edges, such as temporary or damaged road sections.
2- Improper Tire Use
This includes any behavior that causes the tire to be loaded beyond its designed capacity or operated under unsuitable conditions. This includes overloading, incorrect air pressure, using the tire on unsuitable rims, improper installation, or driving with mismatched balance. These factors significantly affect tire performance and void warranty coverage. Including but not limited to:
- Overload: Loading the vehicle with weights exceeding the tire's capacity, leading to rapid tread wear or a tire blowout. According to the instructions of the Ministry of Transport and the General Transport Authority regarding tire loading, the legal weight for vehicles must not exceed the specified and designed weight for the tire and vehicle as indicated in the approved specifications. Overloading the tire causes abnormal stress on the tire, leading to faster damage and potentially resulting in:
- Increased pressure on the tire's sidewall, leading to bulges or cracks.
- Increased tire temperature during driving due to excessive friction, which raises the likelihood of a tire blowout.
- Uneven tread wear, which reduces the tire's lifespan and increases the risk of unexpected damage.
Therefore, it is always essential to ensure that the recommended tire load does not exceed the values specified in the tire manufacturer's manual or the directives of the Ministry of Transport and the General Transport Authority, to guarantee vehicle safety and tire efficiency.
Improper Pressure: Inflating the tire with air pressure below or above the recommended level leads to uneven wear or complete tire damage.
Driving at Excessive Speeds: Operating the tire at speeds exceeding the recommended limit causes the tire to overheat and its structure to deteriorate.
Using Tires on Incompatible Rims: Mounting tires on rims that do not match their technical specifications results in uneven pressure and tire deformation.
Poor Tire Balance: Improper balancing during tire installation leads to vehicle vibration and, consequently, faster tire damage.
3- Natural Wear
Natural wear is the result of a tire's daily use, leading to the gradual depletion of its tread over time. Every tire undergoes natural wear from normal road use, and this type of wear is not considered a defect covered by the warranty. Once the tread depth falls below 1.6 mm, the tire is deemed to have reached the end of its service life. Examples include, but are not limited to:
- Natural wear from daily use.
- Any tire with a tread depth of less than 1.6 mm.
Wear from daily use: a gradual decrease in tread depth resulting from normal vehicle use on paved roads, which is natural wear not covered by warranty.
Uneven wear: can result from unbalanced steering or suspension issues, but it is also a natural consequence of prolonged tire use.
Climate-induced wear: such as prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or high heat, which can cause the tire to harden and its rubber to dry out over time.
Edge wear: typically occurring with continuous sharp turns or driving in demanding conditions.
Using a tire until its tread depth falls below 1.6 mm: When a tire is used for an extended period until the tread is below the minimum safety limit, this is considered normal wear.
4- Driver Behavior and Environmental Conditions:
This refers to damage caused by the driver's behavior and surrounding driving conditions. Actions such as high-speed driving, sudden stops, or driving in harsh environments like rough or unpaved roads can lead to tire damage. Additionally, this category includes chemical contamination and prolonged exposure to sun or heat, which can also damage tires. Examples include, but are not limited to:
- Damage resulting from high-speed driving, emergency stops, or sharp turns.
- Damage resulting from harsh environmental conditions, such as off-road or aggressive driving.
- Chemical contamination, including oil, gasoline, or corrosive substances.
- Tires damaged due to storage conditions, such as prolonged exposure to heat or direct sunlight.
- Frequent off-road driving: For instance, continuously driving on unpaved, mountainous, or desert roads can lead to irregular tire wear.
- Sharp acceleration and sudden braking: Constant sharp acceleration and sudden braking, as seen in racing or aggressive driving, can cause tires to wear out faster than their normal rate.
- Driving in extremely high temperatures: Driving in desert areas or under strong sunlight without sufficient breaks can lead to tire overheating and a sudden blowout.
- Degradation Due to Acid Rain or Environmental Pollution: Continuous exposure to acid rain or polluted environments can lead to the degradation of the tire's rubber materials.
- Overloading Tires in Hot Weather Conditions: Overloading the vehicle in high temperatures can lead to increased pressure on the tires, resulting in cracks or bulges.
- Damage Caused by Snow and Ice: Continuous driving in snow or ice conditions can lead to tire cracks or reduced flexibility due to sharp temperature changes.
