WARRANTY COVERAGE:

This warranty covers only manufacturing defects that may occur during normal tire use in accordance with the instructions recommended by the manufacturer. Manufacturing defects include any defect in materials or workmanship that negatively affects the performance of the frame, such as abnormal cracking, premature wear, or failure of the frame structure due to a manufacturing defect.

The warranty is limited to the original buyer of the tire only and is not transferable to subsequent owners or third parties.

1. Warranty period:

  • The warranty is valid for one year from the date of purchase, or until the tread depth is 1.6 mm, whichever comes first.
  • The warranty applies only to tires purchased and used in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf countries.

2. Coverage: The warranty includes the following manufacturing defects:

  • The separation of the tread layers from the belt.
  • The detachment of the shoulder elastic.
  • The swelling of the sidewall caused by incorrect installation during manufacturing.
  • Defects in the frame or belt structure lead to frame failure.
  • Defects caused by the incorrect vulcanization process or unevennesses in the materials used.

3. Procedures: If a manufacturing defect is discovered in the tire, Derbek Tire will provide the following solutions based on the condition of the tire:

  • Replacement: If the defect is identified within the first 6 months of purchase, the tire will be replaced with a new tire of the same or equivalent model.
  • Proportional compensation: If the defect is identified after 6 months or if the tread depth exceeds 50%, proportional compensation will be issued based on the remaining percentage of the tread depth.

Exclusions from the warranty:

Our warranty policy at Darbek Tire Company aims to provide comprehensive protection to our customers against possible manufacturing defects. However, there are some cases that are not covered by the warranty, arising as a result of external factors or improper use of the tire. These exclusions are in place to ensure that customers understand the conditions that could affect tire performance and take it out of warranty. It is important to comply with the instructions for proper use and avoid conditions that may damage the tire beyond normal manufacturing limits to ensure full use of our products and to ensure public safety on the road.

1. External damage

External damage refers to damage caused to a tire as a result of external factors such as hitting sharp objects or debris on the road. This includes cuts, holes, or cracks caused by stones, glass, nails, or any other materials found on the road that may damage the sidewall or the tread. To name a few

  • Damage caused by impact, cutting, drilling, or road hazards such as stones, glass, nails, or other debris.
  • Cuts in the sidewall or the tread due to external objects or improper handling.
  • Lacerations caused by sharp objects: nails, broken glass, or pieces of metal that penetrate the surface of the tire.
  • Bulges due to impact: bulges in the sidewall caused by the tire hitting pavement or abnormally sharp bumps.
  • Sidewall cracking: caused by driving on pavement edges or sharp obstacles, resulting in obvious cracks on the sidewall of the tire.
  • Deep holes: caused by sharp objects such as screws or nails, which cause deep damage that is difficult to repair.
  • Cutting due to contact with metal edges: usually occurs when driving on protruding or unstable metal edges such as temporary or faulty road parts.

2. Improper use of the tire

It includes any behavior that causes the tire to overload its designed capacity or operate in inappropriate conditions. This includes overloading, incorrect air pressure, using the tire on inappropriate rims, incorrect installation, or driving with a mismatched balance. These factors significantly affect the performance of the tire and take it out of warranty coverage. For example, but not limited to:

  • Overload: Load the vehicle with weights that exceed the tire capacity, resulting in rapid damage to the tread or tire explosion. According to the instructions of the Ministry of Transport and the General Transport Authority regarding tire loading, the legal weight of vehicles must not exceed the specified weight designed for the tire and the vehicle as stated in the approved specifications. Loading the tire with excessive weight causes abnormal tire fatigue, which leads to faster damage and may lead to:
  • Increased pressure on the sidewall of the tire, resulting in bulges or cracks.
  • Increased tire temperature while driving due to excessive friction, which increases the possibility of tire explosion.
  • Irregular wear on the tread, which reduces the life of the tire and increases the risk of unexpected damage.

Therefore, it is always necessary to ensure that the recommended tonnage of tires does not exceed the values specified in the tire manufacturer's manual or in accordance with the directives of the Ministry of Transport and the General Transport Authority, to ensure vehicle safety and tire efficiency.

Inappropriate pressure: Inflate the tire with less or more air pressure than recommended, resulting in uneven wear or complete tire damage.

Driving at a very high speed: Using the tire at speeds that exceed the recommended limit, causing the tire to overheat and deteriorate its structure.

Using the tire on unsuitable rims: Installing the tire on rims that do not meet its technical specifications, resulting in uneven pressure and deformation of the tire.

Bad tire balance: A good imbalance when installing the tire causes the car to shake and therefore to damage the tire faster.

3. Natural wear

Natural wear is the result of daily tire use that gradually wears out the tire's tread over time. Every tire is subject to natural wear due to normal road traffic. This type of wear cannot be considered a defect covered by the warranty. When the depth of the tread is less than 1.6 mm, the tire is considered to have exhausted its service life. To name a few

  • natural wear due to daily use.
  • Any tire with a tread depth of less than 1.6 mm.

Wear due to daily use: The depth of the tread gradually decreases due to the normal use of the car on paved roads, which is a natural wear that is not covered by the warranty.

Uneven wear: It can be caused by unbalanced steering or suspension problems, but it is a natural result of using the tire for long periods.

Erosion due to climate: Such as prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or high heat, causing the tire to harden and dry out its rubber over time.

Edge wear: Which usually occurs when continuous sharp turns or driving in difficult conditions.

Use the tire until the tread depth is less than 1.6 mm: When the tire is used for a long time until the tread is below the minimum safety limit, this is normal wear.

4. Driver behavior and environmental conditions:

This refers to damage caused by the way the driver drives and the surrounding driving conditions. Behaviors such as driving at high speeds, sudden stops, or driving in harsh environmental conditions such as rough roads or unpaved roads can lead to tire damage. In addition, this section includes chemical pollution and prolonged exposure to sunlight or heat, which can cause damage to the tire as a result of these conditions. For example, but not limited to:

  • Damage caused by driving at high speeds, emergency stops, or sharp turns.
  • Damage caused by extreme environmental conditions such as off-roading or aggressive driving.
  • Chemical pollution including oil, gasoline, or corrosive materials.
  • Damaged tires due to storage conditions such as prolonged exposure to heat or direct sunlight.
  • DRIVE OFF-ROAD FREQUENTLY: Such as driving on unpaved roads or mountain or desert roads continuously may lead to irregular tire wear.
  • Accelerations and sudden stops: Continuous sharp acceleration and sudden stops, such as in racing or aggressive driving, can cause tires to wear out faster than normal.
  • Driving in very high temperatures: Driving in desert areas or in strong sunlight without adequate rest periods can cause the tire to overheat and suddenly explode.
  • Corrosion due to acid rain or environmental pollution: Continuous exposure to acid rain or contaminated environments may corrode tire rubber materials.
  • Overloading tires in hot weather conditions: Overloading the vehicle at high temperatures can lead to increased pressure on the tires, resulting in cracks or bulges.
  • Damage caused by snow and ice: Continuous driving in snow or ice conditions may lead to cracks in the tire or a decrease in flexibility due to sharp changes in temperature.
